Music from inside of a dreamscape

Rusty Santos is a Los Angeles-based musician and producer known for his influence in indie music and experimental pop. He first gained attention producing Animal Collective’s Sung Tongs and through his collaboration with Panda Bear on Person Pitch.

Rusty’s catalog spans epochs, having produced and mixed records for artists like Born Ruffians, Dirty Projectors, and Dawn of Midi, and mastering albums for artists like Beach House and DJ Rashad.

His solo work explores subliminal territory, suggestive of his nonlinear approach to music production and composition. The music maps out the terrain of a dreamscape. The experimental nature of the songs are apparent in subject matter and the sonics themselves.

His deep roots in the acoustic and electronic psychedelia scenes, including collaborations with Black Dice and Gang Gang Dance, have informed his distinct approach to making records, with an influence felt far beyond the underground scene.
